Human Resources Generalist
A well-established organization is seeking an experienced Human Resources Operations Specialist to support a broad range of HR functions, including employee relations, compliance, recruiting, onboarding, workforce administration, and organizational initiatives. This role is ideal for a proactive HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems, and can effectively balance compliance requirements with employee support.
The successful candidate will serve as a trusted resource for employees and management while helping maintain effective HR processes, regulatory compliance, and a positive workplace culture.
Primary Responsibilities
Human Resources Administration
- Coordinate and support day-to-day HR operations across multiple functional areas.
- Manage employee lifecycle activities including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and offboarding.
- Conduct workplace investigations and assist in resolving employee concerns.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Maintain accurate employee records and personnel documentation.
Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare, review, and submit workforce and compliance-related reports.
- Assist with audits, policy administration, and regulatory documentation requirements.
- Support workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and related employment matters.
- Monitor HR practices and identify opportunities to reduce compliance risk.
Employee Relations & Workforce Support
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions and HR guidance.
- Partner with supervisors and managers to address workplace issues and performance concerns.
- Provide resources and referrals for employees facing personal or workplace challenges.
- Promote a respectful, inclusive, and productive work environment.
Recruitment & Talent Support
- Assist with job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, scheduling, and hiring activities.
- Support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
- Maintain applicant records and recruiting data.
- Participate in workforce planning and staffing initiatives.
Culture & Organizational Development
- Coordinate employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and internal communications.
- Assist with company events, team-building initiatives, and employee programs.
- Contribute to projects designed to strengthen workplace culture and improve employee experience.
- Support communication efforts across a geographically dispersed workforce.
HR Systems & Process Improvement
- Maintain HRIS data integrity and ensure employee information remains accurate and current.
- Support payroll-related processes and administrative projects as needed.
- Recommend and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Five or more years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, employee relations practices, and HR compliance requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Ability to meet applicable pre-employment screening requirements.
